Brad Duke
Growing up in the heart of The River of No Return wilderness area, Salmon, Idaho was the perfect playground and training ground for an adrenaline athlete. A National Junior College All-American Decathlete, NCAA Division I pole-vaulter, experienced skydiver, bungee jumper and a competitive mountain bike racer, Brad Duke's personal interest in athletic performance became the backbone of his career. Brad graduated from Boise State University with a B.S. in Health Promotion, B.S. in Exercise Science, A.S. in Health Science and a Physics Minor. In addition to the appeal of sports and fitness, Brad was drawn to this field of work because of its power to help others. As the president and co-founder of Synergy Fitness Group, Brad helps clubs deliver a results-driven fitness experience to their members that results in member retention.

Brad started his career with hands-on experience in stroke rehabilitation, where he was featured in Today's Physician Magazine. Throughout his career, he has managed multiple aspects of fitness departments and club atmospheres. At Gold's Gym, he developed and implemented company-wide philosophies and systems of operations; he managed, developed, and educated 45 personal trainers and also taught spinning.

Brett Howell
Brett Howell has always known how to work with people to achieve results. As a nationally ranked member of an NCAA Doubles Racquetball Team and as a racquetball instructor in college, Brett learned the importance of working together towards a common goal. With a degree in Business Administration from Lewis Clark State College, Brett's management style combines his propensity for numbers with his understanding of human behavior. Throughout his 13 years in the fitness industry, he has managed and operated nine facilities, including four pre-sales for Gold's Gym, Treasure Valley, where he oversaw the creation of each gym from the ground up. In 2004, Brett was invited to be a presenter on a pre-sale panel for the Gold's Gym International Conference.

With a complete understanding of the fitness industry, he focuses on the realms of sales, marketing and management-creating solutions that are systems oriented. Through his extensive experience with gym franchises, Brett has learned what works and what doesn't. Howell's career in the fitness industry is driven by the need to help others; to do his part to help fight obesity and unhealthy lifestyles. He is continually fulfilled by the act of helping people achieve health and happiness.

Brett and his wife, Michelle, have two children, Chloe and Aiden.



Jay Bates
As an athlete, Jay Bates has always viewed life as a competition, and success is the result of hard-work, dedication and attention to detail. With a degree in Health and Physical Education from Boise State University, Jay began his career as a personal trainer with a Boise-based athletic club. He went on to work for several other clubs, including 24-Hour Fitness and Gold's Gym, where he became the Director of Fitness for multiple gyms in the Treasure Valley.

Jay's philosophy is that success in the fitness industry is rooted in maintaining terrific systems, accountability and the constant process of individual learning and growth. He is driven by his passion for helping people accomplish their fitness goals. As a fitness consultant, he loves seeing his clients achieve their business goals. Jay works closely with fitness departments, training and developing effective personal trainers in an effort to creative a positive fitness culture. His understanding of nutrition and supplementation adds professionalism to the complete gym experience.

Bates has developed and operated national pilot programs for APEX Fitness Group, Bodymedia and Visual Fitness Planner, all of which were adopted nationwide. He also developed a golf-specific fitness program for ESPN production. Jay holds certifications in NASM, APEX, Bodybugg and is a certified instructor for a nationally recognized C.E.C. course.

Jay and his wife, Christa, have two daughters, Bailey and Mia.
